There is no single right way to foster. Every foster carer is different, bringing their own personality, values and experiences into the role. Whether shaped by lived experience, family life, career background, skills or personal interests, each foster carer draws on what they already have to offer. This diversity is one of the strengths of fostering and means that children and young people can be supported by carers from many walks of life. No two fostering stories are the same and that is what makes it so special!
Meet some of our valued foster carers from across the region. Many people foster alongside jobs, family responsibilities and an abundance of hobbies and interests, bringing a wealth of life experience into their caring role.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be celebrating our foster carers across our social media channels and adding even more profiles to this page. Be sure to check back regularly to hear more real stories and discover the many different paths into fostering.
If reading these stories has made you think that fostering could be right for you, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to find out more about fostering, explore your options, and take the first step towards making a lasting difference in a child’s life.
