Thank you for taking the time to read and engage with our newsletter. Your continued support and involvement help strengthen our fostering community and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in care.
In this issue, we celebrate recent achievements, share inspiring stories, and highlight opportunities to get involved as we work together to support children and young people in care.
So, no matter where you are in your fostering journey, we hope this newsletter brings you insight, encouragement, and a sense of connection to the wider fostering community.
Goodbyes aren’t always the end- they can be the beginning of something beautiful
One of the most common concerns for those considering fostering is the emotional challenge of saying goodbye. It’s true, parting ways with a child you’ve cared for can be difficult, and for some, this fear can be a barrier to taking that first step. But foster carer Sarah, offers a powerful and uplifting perspective: she reminds us that goodbyes can also be moments of joy and pride.
Whether a child is being adopted into a loving new family or returning to a birth family that has healed and grown, being part of that journey is a profound privilege. Sarah reflects on the honour of helping children take those steps toward stability and belonging, and how witnessing their next chapter unfold can be one of the happiest and most rewarding parts of fostering.

National Care Leavers Month
This November, we are celebrating National Care Leavers Month, a time to honour the journeys of young people transitioning out of care and into independence. The 2025 theme, “Rising As Me: Overcoming Challenges, Transforming, and Finding Your Identity,” shines a light on the strength, growth, and self-discovery of care-experienced individuals.
Foster carer’s role and support in this journey is vital- not only in providing a safe and nurturing home, but in helping young people build confidence, develop life skills, and believe in their potential. The care and guidance foster carers offer can shape futures, open doors, and set young people up for long-term success.
We would like to thank our current foster carers for all that they do in helping to shape the futures of the young people they care for as they move into adulthood. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a foster carer, why not take a moment to reflect on the incredible difference you could make- because offering a safe, loving home doesn’t just change a life, it helps shape a future full of possibility.
